In these terms and conditions of hire, the following meanings shall apply:

“we, us, our, supplier” refers to NHP Events Company.
“you, your, customer, signee” refers to the named person on the booking.
“your hire” means all arrangements and items sourced and organised for you by us.

We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time and you should therefore check them each time you hire items from us. The terms and conditions applying to your hire will be those in place on the date that you make your reservation.

Acceptance – Term & Conditions of sale including quotation: 

By accepting our quotation via an official purchase order, email of intent, verbal, online website (www.nhpevents.com) or by our quotation acceptance management system you will be fully accepting and understand all our standard terms & conditions of sale. This also includes the quotation itself.


We hold open quotations for 7 days. 

If you have been quoted on stock items, then the quotation is valid until an order or deposit has been placed. Stock items are quoted to numerous customers and therefore NHP Events work on a first come, first served basis.

Booking Conditions

We will confirm that your date is available on your quotation email. 

Following your online quote acceptance, we will hold your event date for 3 days (including Saturdays & Sundays).

 If the 25% NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is not received in this time your date will become available again for others to book online.
The event date is held when the quotation has been digitally accepted, the contract is fully confirmed once a deposit payment has been received by NHP Events and a receipt has been issued to the customer..

The full remaining payment must be received at least 30 days before the delivery/pick up date via the agreed payment method. We will be unable to deliver the items or arrange for your collection if we have not received the full payment.

Hire Duration

All hire prices, unless stated are based on 3 days. 

  1. Collection / Delivery day  
  2. event day 
  3. Collection / Return day

Extended Hire

Extended hire will be charged at 10% of the hire value for each additional day past the above three days and can be arranged upon booking.

Deposits and Payments

A 25% NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is required to secure the booking, the remaining balance is due at least 30 days (including Saturdays & Sundays before the hire date.

On large orders, there will also be a 50% security deposit which is payable no later than seven days before delivery but will be refunded within 48 hours of return/collection – providing all items are in the same condition as when they were collected/delivered. We will tell you if your order requires this security deposit.

All payments are made via bacs please see details below once payment has been received a receipt will be sent to you.

Risk, Ownership & Insurance

Risk in the Goods will pass immediately to the Customer when they leave the physical possession or control of the Supplier.

Risk in the Hire Goods will not pass back to the Supplier from the Customer until the Hire Goods are back in the physical possession of the Supplier. This shall apply even if the Supplier has agreed to cease charging the Rental, the Hire Period has ceased, or if the Contract has expired or terminated.

 Ownership of the Hire Goods remains at all times with the Supplier. 

The Customer has no right, title or interest in the Hire Goods except that they are hired to the Customer. Ownership of any Sale Goods remains with the Supplier until all monies payable to the Supplier by the Customer for the Sale Goods have been paid in full (in cash or cleared funds).

Until ownership in the Sale Goods passes to the Customer, the Customer shall: -1.Hold the Sale Goods on a fiduciary basis as the Supplier’s bailee;

  1. Hold the Sale Goods on a fiduciary basis as the Supplier’s bailee;
  2. Store such Sale Goods separately from all other goods held by the Customer so that they remain readily identifiable as the Supplier’s property;
  3. Not remove, deface or obscure any identifying mark or packaging on or relating to such Sale Goods;
  4. Maintain the Sale Goods in satisfactory condition; and
  5. No naked flames to be used on the hire items, battery operated candles only.
  6. Keep them insured (as from the time they leave the physical possession or control of the Supplier) on the Supplier’s behalf for their full price against all risks with an insurer that is acceptable to the Supplier (acting reasonably). The Customer shall (if requested by the Supplier) obtain an endorsement of the Supplier’s interest in the Sale Goods on its insurance policy, subject to the insurer being willing to make the endorsement. On request the Customer shall allow the Supplier to inspect the Sale Goods and the insurance policy, but the Customer may resell or use the Sale Goods in the ordinary course of its business

Delivery or Collection 

We offer a delivery and collection service which is quoted per contract hire.
You are welcome to collect your items from us in Leicestershire free of charge.

On signing the delivery/pick up statement, you are agreeing that the items are in good condition and are as advertised. No complaint on the condition or quality of the items will be valid at a later stage if concerns have not been raised, or if inspection has not occurred before signing this statement. You may not request a reduction/refund on payment based on quality or condition of our items if this statement has been signed.

The signee of this collection or delivery acceptance is the person who will be deemed to take full responsibility of the goods.

Items must be ready to collect at the agreed time and most importantly they must be in the same condition as when they were delivered. We will charge a replacement fee for any items lost, soiled or damaged – if this does apply, we do ask that this payment is paid in full within 28 days.

 Item Setup

You are hiring the items from us; we do not run a styling service and therefore are not obliged to set the items up. Please ensure you have someone on hand who is prepared to set up the items; our delivery drivers are drivers only. Some items require two or more people to assemble or setup in which NHP Events will set up. Please be aware any items if you choose to set up are not covered by NHP Events insurance only items set up by us are covered.

Extreme Circumstances / Force Majeure / Cancellation by Us

In the event of extreme weather or road conditions which result in us being unable to safely deliver or collect the hire goods, this also includes any road closures or unforeseen traffic. We reserve the right to alter the arrangements for delivery or collection and shall not be liable to for any losses or costs to you that may arise as a result.

We reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances that make your hire unviable for us, up to and including the day of your hire. We are the ruling party on deciding if the hire is unviable and we will not be liable for any compensation or additional costs you may incur as a result of our cancellation; however, a full refund will be issued for the hired goods only.


We warrant that at the time of delivery goods will be of satisfactory quality; however, we are not liable for any damages or losses incurred during transit. We reserve the right to choose an appropriate replacement to your specified item should the necessity arise. Any necessary substitutions will be communicated to you prior to your order being dispatched.


  • In no circumstances shall our liability to you exceed the invoice value of the contract.
  • NHP Events or any of their employees shall not be liable in respect of damages/injury/loss or any other damage incurred in respect of this hire, as a result of any defect or damage to the item and the customer shall satisfy himself/herself of the suitability/condition/placement of the equipment upon receipt.
  • Caution should be exercised in particular with the use of candles; we shall not be liable for any damage/injury/loss caused as a result of using candles. Permission should be sought from the venue as to the suitability of all items hired.

Boxes and Packaging

Please note: All boxes and packaging must be returned with the hire goods as non-return will incur a charge for the retail value of the goods.

Cleaning Items 

Any items that are sent back in an inappropriate state and need additional cleaning there will be a charge of:

 £50 on orders under £150

£100 on orders under £500 

£150 on orders over £500

Damage & Breakages

The signee & booking contact name for the electronic acceptance are responsible for all the hired items. If an item is broken, then we will try to find the best way to repair it and will invoice the customer the repair costs. If repair is not possible then full charge for the item will apply.

Changes to orders
Reductions in the quantities of hire goods within 14 days of the event date (including Saturdays & Sundays) will not be refunded and charged at the full rate. Additions to hire goods quantities are subject to availability at the time of request only and not guaranteed.


If, for any reason, you the Customer terminates the contract after confirmation of the order payments will become due according to the following schedule:

Please note that the 25% deposit is non-refundable in all scenarios:

More than 21 days before day one of your hire: 75% of full hire value refunded.

Between 21 and 14 days before day one of your hire: 50% of full hire value refunded.

Between 13 and 7 days before day one of your hire: 25% of full hire value refunded.

Less than 7 days before day one of your hire: No refund available.

Garden Games

Garden games will be delivered regardless of the weather, the order is non-refundable in the event of rain (hopefully there would be some dry spells on the day which would allow you to play with the games)

We do not take any responsibility for any damage or injury caused to the venue or person during the hire period.

It is your responsibility to confirm that the venue you have booked allows for garden games prior to order.

Please note the garden games are not supervised during the hire period, we set up the games for you and leave them for you to play and you the customer ensure all is used in the correct manor.

Colours of Items

All efforts have been made to represent our items accurately in our photographs, however sometimes there may be slight discrepancies with colour due to different monitors showing different saturation and photographs being taken in different lighting and we cannot be held accountable for this. Every care is taken to provide the items as you expect them.

Hire Refusal

We have the right to refuse a booking to you if we feel the items are not suited to the purpose of your hire, or if you, your company or your event contradicts our company ethos.

Electronic Communications 

When you visit www.nhpevents.com or send e-mails to us, you are communicating to us electronically. You consent to receive communications from us electronically. We will communicate with you by email or by posting notices on this site. You agree that all agreements, notices, disclosures and other communications that we provide to you electronically satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing. 


All content included on this site, such as text, graphics, logos, button icons, images, audio clips, digital downloads, data compilations and software, is the property of NHP Events or its content suppliers and protected by international copy right laws. The compilation of all content on this site is the exclusive property of NHP Events, with copyright authorship for this collection by NHP Events, and protected by international copyright laws. 

Licence & Site Access 

NHP Events grants you a limited licence to access and make personal use of this site and not to download (other than page caching) or modify it, or any portion of it, except with express written consent of NHP Events. This licence does not include any resale or commercial use of this site or its contents: any collection and use of any product listings, descriptions, or prices: any derivative use of this site or its contents. 


Any typographical, clerical or other error or omission in any sales literature, quotation, price list, acceptance of offer, invoice or other document or information issued by us shall be subject to correction without any liability on the part of us.
